The Georgia Department of Revenue's (DOR) Human Resources Division (HR) recently received the top honor IMPACT award at the 27th Annual SOAHR Conference put on by Society for Human Resource Management-Atlanta. The IMPACT award is given to teams whose actions or initiatives have gone above and beyond expectations and have significantly contributed to the advancement of agency and personnel advancement through IMPACT: Innovation, Motivation, Performance, Achievement, Creativity or Transformation in the work being recognized.

In addition to initiating creative and innovative development programs, the DOR HR team has consistently been recognized in state government for leading the way in performance management, classification and compensation review, and establishing processes to ensure legal defensibility of employment decisions; all of which serve as major contributions to the efficient operation of a state agency.

"The Department of Revenue Human Resources team has successfully implemented a variety of workforce development programs to provide for career growth opportunities for our existing personnel, and excellent succession planning strategies to ensure outstanding service delivery to the taxpayers of Georgia for years to come. Ann Raines-Williamson inspires her team to deliver outstanding guidance and support to every member of our DOR family," said DOR Commissioner Lynne Riley.

With over forty percent of the agency's senior management scheduled to retire over the next 5 years, DOR HR will continue to play a vital role in ensuring the agency recruits and retains talented individuals.
