Personal Service
The Georgia Department of Revenue will accept personal service at the Customer Service area located in the Department’s primary office at 1800 Century Blvd. NE, Atlanta, GA 30345. Personal service at any other location will not be accepted or valid. The Customer Service Specialists who are present at these windows are authorized to accept personal service in all matters. Personal service at the customer service windows may be accomplished during the Department’s business hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
While the Department encourages service during its regular business hours, for the purposes of O.C.G.A. § 50-21-35 the Department’s Office of the General Counsel (OGC) will accept personal service Monday through Wednesday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Please contact OGC at [email protected] for information. General Counsel Lorraine Hoffmann-Polk along with Deputy General Counsels Charles Elrod and Stephen Harris are authorized to accept personal service.
Service by Mail
The Department will only accept legal documents that do not require personal service if they are sent by certified mail or any other method specifically authorized by law. Service will not be considered accepted or valid unless sent to the address below and with receipt acknowledged by the Department:

Electronic Service
The Department will not accept electronic service unless such service is required by law or has been approved by the Department.
